This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. The Maintenance Mechanic will conduct interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner, and go out of their way to offer assistance to others. They will advocate to ensure privacy and confidentiality while helping others to maintain awareness. The role involves maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort, and minimize risk and injury. Ensuring compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure is also a key part of the role. The employee must comply with the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy and complete all Hospital and Department Specific Mandatory requirements in the prior calendar year. Incidents must be reported in a timely and effective manner. All employees with direct patient contact are responsible for actively engaging in the practice of, monitoring and enforcing compliance to hand hygiene. The role also involves sharing knowledge and expertise to help others improve performance and keeping customers, staff, manager, and other departments informed of deadlines and changes. Specific performance metrics include completing 98% of corrective work orders each quarter, completing 98% of preventive maintenance assigned each month, and maintaining a less than 5% call back rate on all work orders. The role also includes completing all minor construction as assigned, completing and submitting requisitions, including costs of supplies, to the supervisor, performing snow removal duties as assigned, and responding appropriately to power failures.
