About The Position

Performs various machine repairs, installation, and maintenance functions on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Ensures smooth operation of all equipment and facilities within the plant.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.

Nice To Haves

Knowledgeable in the area of construction; possessing plumbing, concrete, and carpentry skills for building repair or reconstruction.
Must be able to work from a ladder, scaffolding, and/or a Genie lift.
Must be able to train others in troubleshooting, installation, and the use of tools and techniques.
May direct the work of helpers or less experienced personnel.
Must furnish their own set of basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

Installs, relocates, or removes from service new and existing equipment.
Makes repairs and performs preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment such as PLCs, motors: A.C. and D.C., production machines, engines, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Uses testing equipment and necessary hand and power tools.
Accurately reads blueprints, schematics, micrometers, tape measures, and wiring diagrams in making repairs and adjustments.
Troubleshoots problems and plans necessary repairs.
Keeps supervisor informed.
Wires electrical circuits and controls.
Troubleshoots electrical problems.
Knowledgeable in the area of construction; possessing plumbing, concrete, and carpentry skills for building repair or reconstruction.
Must be able to work from a ladder, scaffolding, and/or a Genie lift.
Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Follows proper procedure for Lock out-Tag out and wears required protective equipment.
Completes proper paperwork and inspection documentation.
Keeps accurate record of labor on daily timecard.
Requisitions needed parts and supplies to carry out repairs.
Must be able to train others in troubleshooting, installation, and the use of tools and techniques.
May direct the work of helpers or less experienced personnel.
Coordinates repair activities so as to minimize production downtime.
Must be responsive to the needs of the production team.
Must be able to work well in a team atmosphere.
Required to possess the flexibility to respond to rapidly changing priorities.
Continuously increases knowledge and updates skills related to job functions.
Applies the continuous improvement philosophy to consistently improve work quality and reduce costs.
Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime as needed on short notice.
