About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic at a Waste Water treatment and solidification MPF, you will be responsible for performing various mechanical, maintenance and repair work including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic may inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps, replace or rebuild pumps, replace fan bearings, replace motors, rebuild or change gearboxes, install and modify pipelines, and assist in the modification and addition of plant projects. Also, you will be responsible for the planned, unplanned, and preventative maintenance tasks required to ensure safe and efficient operational effectiveness of equipment and systems which enable Reworld’s processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the repair and maintenance of Industrial mechanical equipment
  • Abilit to work with vendors
  • Positive attitude
  • Problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with chemical usage and processes
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time. (work with Operations and Maintenance at nearby locations)
  • An understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, hand trucks, drill presses, grinders, conveyors, gas welding, brazing or cutting apparatus, and various other heavy equipment
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, nights, holidays and respond to call-ins as plant operations dictate.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn Level D & Level C.
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator as needed
  • Consistently work in various weather, noise level, and outside weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift, skid loader, manlift experience preferred
  • Lean mindset
  • Electrical background preferred
  • Experience with pumps, values, chemical tanks, and pipefitting
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience reading blueprints and P&ID's is a plus
  • Specialty skills such (plumbing, welding, electrical, etc.) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Effectively complete preventive maintenance tasks per maintenance schedule to avoid breakdowns of equipment and operational downtime.
  • Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and process stoppages collaborating with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize production downtime and complete all required paperwork and documentation
  • Repair and/or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary
  • Observe and evaluate the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose/ troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment
  • Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards
  • Order supplies and parts
  • Prioritize safety and compliance at the site. Expected to be a Safety Committee member
  • Other duties as assigned
