As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining assigned mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. This role requires you to keep supervision informed of any problems, conditions, or the status of your assigned work. You will be expected to make emergency repairs to building systems, especially during single coverage shifts, and to support your work with proper documentation. The position also involves assisting other maintenance mechanics and skilled tradesmen with troubleshooting, repair, construction, and installation of various building systems, equipment, and fixtures. A key part of your duties will be regularly performing and assisting with preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels, belts, temperature and fluid levels, air pressures, cleaning equipment, and changing filters. You will also make a variety of general repairs to equipment and facilities, including beds, light bulbs, painting, grounds, and clearing drains. Additionally, you may be assigned to move furniture and equipment, investigate and identify minor malfunctions of equipment and utilities, and order necessary parts to complete work orders.
