About The Position

Symbrant Aviation Services is a rapidly growing provider of mission-critical airport maintenance operations. We partner with airlines and airport authorities to support safe, reliable, and efficient airport operations. Our teams maintain and support baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, PCA/GPU units, and industrial facility systems in safety-sensitive aviation environments. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on critical airport mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role supports daily airline operations by ensuring equipment remains reliable, safe, and fully operational in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of mechanical or maintenance experience (industrial, aviation, facilities, manufacturing, or automotive).
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical diagrams and follow procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and safely navigate industrial environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass airport background checks.
  • OSHA 30 certification required OR willingness to obtain OSHA 30 upon hire.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BHS, PBB, PCA, or GPU systems.
  • Exposure to HVAC systems.
  • Low-voltage electrical troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on belts, rollers, bearings, motors, pulleys, and gearboxes.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair Baggage Handling System (BHS) components including sensors, photo-eyes, drives, diverters, and conveyor assemblies.
  • Support maintenance and repairs on Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA), and Ground Power Units (GPU).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues including motors, relays, limit switches, wiring faults, and VFD-related issues.
  • Respond promptly to equipment alarms and operational service calls.
  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance documentation using a CMMS (UpKeep or similar).
  • Follow all Symbrant, airport authority, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, control room operators, and incoming shifts.
