About The Position
Ashton Lewis Lumber Company, a producer of Southern Yellow Pine since 1952, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill machinery and production equipment. The company prides itself on quality, integrity, and strong customer relationships, and this position contributes to those values by maintaining the equipment that produces our high-quality lumber.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, tools and PPE.
- Willingness/ability to learn on the job under supervision.

- Lumber experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Observe all safety requirements including wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair sawmill machinery and production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Follow LOTO and all other mill safety protocols during maintenance activities.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
