This role is responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Special precautions are required when working in patient/resident care areas, ensuring tools are kept out of reach of children. The position requires basic mechanical knowledge and competence in using hand tools, meters, and gauges. The role involves explaining conditions and situations accurately during troubleshooting, and functioning with safety, moral, and efficiency in mind. The employee must be able to work all shifts and hours as scheduled, and comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understanding written and verbal communications is essential, as are good written and oral communication skills. The role requires working independently with minimal supervision and knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances. Depending on facility size, additional duties may include installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems (including boiler operations), campus grounds maintenance, and general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair. On-call duties may be required as directed.
