About The Position

East Side Jersey Dairy O'Fallon/Prairie Farms is looking for an EXPERIENCED Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support production in a food manufacturing and packaging facility. The role also includes maintaining plant utilities such as boiler, HVAC, air compressors, refrigeration compressors, anhydrous ammonia system, building and grounds maintenance, etc. This is a full-time position with a shift differential and a 90-day probationary period. Union membership with District NO.9, International Association of Machinist and Aerospace workers is required after 30 days.

Requirements

2+ Years relevant Maintenance experience required
Good interpersonal skills are a must.

Nice To Haves

Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge is a plus
Experience with PLCs and ammonia refrigeration preferred

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical problems quickly and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair/owner manuals, engineering specifications, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Maintenance on processing equipment, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installation of equipment.
Adjust and repair packaging equipment as needed.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Interface with Operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant reliability.
Work with both Outside Contractors and Plant Operations to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Other responsibilities as requested.
