About The Position

Darigold is seeking Vacation Relief Maintenance Mechanics to join the Spokane Maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our dairy facility by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment. The position supports a 24/7/365 facility producing milk. Candidates must possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documents, and document repairs using computerized maintenance management software. The work schedule involves four 10-hour shifts, with the day part being either day shift, swing shift, or graveyard shift, working either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.

Requirements

Knowledge of mechanical systems including Utilities (Electrical, Steam, Air, Water, Wastewater, Refrigeration), Building systems (HVAC, Fire, Security), and Mechanical (Power transmission, Pumps, Pneumatics, Hydraulics).
Experience with repair and maintenance of Packaging equipment (Palletizers, case packers, case formers, baggers, stretch wrappers, conveyors, robotics).
Experience with repair and maintenance of Fluid transport and processing equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, separators, evaporators).
Experience with repair and maintenance of Utilities (boilers, chillers, air compressors).
Ability to follow food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
Ability to use computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to document equipment repairs and look up parts.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft products - Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in dairy, beverage, packaging, or food processing industry.
Ability to work effectively with all plant employees and build effective solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot reliability issues in a manufacturing environment in a plant that operates 24/7.
Able to lift 50 lbs. routinely/frequently.
Able to sit, stand, climb or walk for 12 hours.
Able to work in a loud environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience troubleshooting PLCs, and controls instrumentation.
Industrial Electrical and controls experience.
Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience.
Proven sanitary welding experience.
Proven stainless steel fabrication and welding skills.
Boiler Operators license preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute preventive maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, including production, building, and utility equipment.
Maintain and repair various types of equipment such as pumps, valves, separators, RO systems, evaporators, dryers, case packers, palletizers, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to log working hours, look up parts, write repair notes, create follow-up work orders, and receive daily tasks.
Read and follow work orders for service, modification, or installation of machinery.
Perform inspection, installation, operation, lubrication, maintenance, and repair of general operating conditions or evidence of deterioration.
Observe and interpret meters and gauges, adjust and repair support and facility equipment.
Inspect equipment for safe condition using procedures and test equipment.
Monitor and operate plant utilities including power distribution, steam generation, chillers, cooling towers, domestic tempered water, plant HVAC systems, water distribution systems, and fire suppression.
Maintain professional working relationships with plant management, operations staff, customers, and vendors.
Perform maintenance work using a variety of hand, shop, and power tools.
