About The Position

River Hospital's Plant Operations team is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic. This role involves repairing and maintaining all equipment associated with the daily operations of the physical plant. The employee will maintain the hospital buildings in livable and workable conditions relative to heat, light, power, air-conditioning, and other broad environmental factors. Responsibilities include repairing and constructing the hospital’s physical plant and its contents, up to and including major additions. The role performs a variety of general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance, as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the hospital. The employee generally performs work in a shop area and the hospital interior and exterior in all weather. The employee is subject to 24-hour call in the event of an emergency. Occasional evening or night shifts are required, and a rotational call schedule is necessary.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of progressively complex experience in several of the maintenance trades.
• New York State Driver’s license.
• Basic Computer Knowledge.
• Near Visual Acuity for reading blue-prints and specifications.

Nice To Haves

• License or Certification from a Trade, Vocational school.
