About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance repairs in a soybean processing facility. They perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the plant. This is a day shift position, Monday-Friday, with the ability to work overtime and on-call as needed. The pay is $31.33 an hour.

Requirements

  • General troubleshooting and maintenance skills
  • Welding experience (stick and MIG)
  • Knowledge of bearing installation and clearance setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing English

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with SAP maintenance software
  • Experience with PLC and HVAC

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility
  • Rebuild, repair, and replace damaged, defective, or worn parts
  • Perform mechanical tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as needed
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment
  • Perform welding including light fabrication of spouts, transitions, etc. from sheet metal including all positions (Stick, MIG and TIG)
  • Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situation to proper supervision
  • Rebuild pumps and gearboxes
  • Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees
  • Participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Involvement Plan
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Other duties as assigned
