About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment within a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports continuous production operations, and minimizes downtime by diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and basic automation issues in compliance with safety, GMP, and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
  • Support equipment installation, setup, and commissioning activities.
  • Execute work orders and maintenance tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations including lockout/tagout (LOTO), GMP, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to support operational goals.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues for further analysis.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Support maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, and facility initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
