About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, this position works alongside the Supervisor and performs PM services, inspections and repairs on mobile equipment, orders parts and maintains inventory. This position requires knowledge of auto electrical systems, brake systems, diesel engines and hydraulic diagnostics; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of auto electrical system, brake system (air and hydraulic), diesel systems, and hydraulic diagnostics required.
  • Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Requires good reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Candidate may be required to provide own tools.
  • Ability to use and operate a personal computer, spreadsheets and word processing software, calculator and other office equipment.
  • Possess a high sense of urgency and initiative.
  • A clean DMV and Pull Notice is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs PM services, and inspections.
  • Trouble-shoot, and diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Make repairs and replace worn or damaged parts as needed.
  • Requests parts quotes and maintains inventory.
  • Fill out required paperwork including work orders, and service check lists.
  • Verifies tire work that is performed.
  • Determines if machine must be shut down for repairs.
  • Determines if company has facilities to make required repairs.
  • Drive company car or personal vehicle to pick up parts or go assist a vehicle on the road.
  • Operates forklift, front-end loader, aerial equipment, drill press, welders, grinder, digital voltmeters and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, maintenance or production personnel and other related administration personnel, i.e., supervisor, purchasing staff, or plant manager.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
