About The Position

Quad is seeking motivated individuals to join our Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship Program in West Allis. This program combines paid, hands-on training with related instruction to develop the skills needed to maintain and repair industrial manufacturing equipment. This program is ideal for current Quad employees seeking career advancement and students in mechanical or industrial maintenance programs. Upon completion, you will gain valuable experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, including robotics, develop in-demand maintenance and troubleshooting skills, and earn a State of Wisconsin Certificate of Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in paid, hands-on training.
  • Engage in related instruction to develop necessary skills.
  • Gain experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, including robotics.
  • Develop maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Learn about safety and operations, including OSHA standards, tools, and equipment operation.
  • Study mechanical systems such as bearings, belts, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and motors.
  • Learn about hydraulics and pneumatics, including system components, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Understand installation and setup processes, including rigging, alignment, and equipment start-up.
  • Practice preventive and predictive maintenance diagnostics.
  • Acquire skills in machining and fabrication, including shop equipment, welding, and basic metalwork.
