About The Position

A Mechanical Technician is commonly expected to know how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical systems, apparatus, and mechanical components of industrial machinery and equipment. You will be expected to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery. You will be expected to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances. You will work daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility operate with risk lowered to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), specifically to achieve “ZERO HARM” so no injuries, illness, or negative impact occurs to employees, property, the environment, or the community. You will use your technical expertise to ensure the equipment is functioning accordingly to produce within quality specs and with the designed performance.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience to be considered for this position.
  • Broad Technical training (high school plus 1 to 2 years of apprenticeship/applied trades training). Training requires a basic knowledge of the use of shop mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
  • Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overtime Mandatory when scheduled
  • Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics
  • Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
  • Possess the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Have a working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout
  • Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and concepts
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics
  • Other mechanical duties as assigned
  • Able to perform tasks independently
  • Know and understand safety equipment and be aware of machine safety procedures
