About The Position

The facilities management team consists of several specialized groups to meet the needs of Emory Healthcare Facilities. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Specialist III to support and oversee equipment, patient care, and sustainability. This Individual will practice under the guidance of a licensed professional. Provides guidance to maintenance mechanics and assigns and schedules work. Interprets departmental and organizational policies and procedures for staff to ensure consistent practices. Picks-up and distributes work assignments and gives direction to ensure work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Schedules, monitors and directs workflow. Observes and reviews work produced by staff to maintain efficiency and timely services. Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics and written technical documents of general machineries to locate area of trouble and complete repairs accurately. Performs preventive maintenance on related equipment, buildings and building systems to ensure safe and proper operations. Shuts down equipment prior to scheduled repairs if necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in building maintenance with supportive licensure or degree in building maintenance OR 20 years of experience in one or more of the competency areas.
  • Positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

Responsibilities

  • Licensed skilled, trained and certified in one of the competency areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, steam control, and related building systems and equipment.
