About The Position
The Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) is seeking to fill a Maintenance Mechanic (Roofer) position. This role involves performing routine tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and modification of buildings, equipment, and common areas. The primary scope of work for this position will be roofing. The Maintenance Mechanic will operate and maintain approved power tools and light mechanical equipment. The position is located at 810 Martin Luther King Jr Way S Seattle, WA 98144.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Driver’s License and fully insurable driving record
- Must have specialized training in at least one field of Maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, evaluate and document the condition of all agency roofs on a regular basis for the purpose of creating long term roof repair and replacement plans.
- Perform preventive maintenance work to roofs for the purpose of protecting agency facilities by applying asphalt, gravel or other suitable materials.
- Repair and/or replace a variety of roof coverings, interior plaster drywall and exterior stucco for the purpose of maintaining Agency buildings in optimum condition.
- Clean debris from roof sites, drains, construction sites, etc. for the purpose of maintaining sites and facilities in a safe condition.
