About The Position

Gorton’s, America’s leader in Frozen Seafood, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 at its new processing facility in Lebanon, IN. This position will work closely with the production, quality, and sanitation teams to ensure on-time preventative maintenance (PMs) and timely repairs to maintain plant operations. The role involves troubleshooting building HVAC and Plant Electrical Equipment, using CMMS to complete and create work orders, and repairing Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electrical equipment. The mechanic will also troubleshoot PLC programs, electrical and mechanical issues, and perform welding with TIG/MIG/and Stick weld. Additionally, the role requires putting in requisitions for low-quantity parts, following BRC requirements for food industry standards, supporting building and production repairs in a timely manner, communicating openly with team members about equipment repairs and PM schedules, participating in daily pass-down meetings, and collaborating with the maintenance planner and vendors.

Requirements

  • 5 Years in electrical experience and PLCs
  • 5 Years experience in Industrial maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement Best Practices and deal with high levels of ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Motivated individual who takes pride in work performed and can work efficiently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Locate and check out maintenance parts and materials from stockroom
  • Troubleshoot building HVAC and Plant Electrical Equipment
  • Use CMMS to complete and create work orders
  • Troubleshoot and repair Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electrical equipment repairs
  • Troubleshoot PLC programs, electrical and mechanical issues
  • Weld with TIG/MIG/and Stick weld
  • Put in requisitions for low quantity parts
  • Follow BRC requirements for food industry standards
  • Support building and production repairs in a timely manner
  • Communicate with team members openly on equipment repairs and PM schedules
  • Participate in daily pass-down meetings
  • Collaborate with maintenance planner to identify parts needed for necessary repairs and rebuilds
  • Collaborate with vendors to build relationships and identify cost savings opportunities
