About The Position

Qualified and required to perform general maintenance work on machines, including all types of building maintenance. Can perform simpler forms of tool, die, and fixture work when asked. Must maintain the machines in proper operating condition. Must conform to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule and requirements of Preventative Maintenance sheet. Must be a good welder and skilled in the use of the tools necessary to do electrical, plumbing and heating work. Must have satisfactorily completed all steps of apprentice program described in the Maintenance Apprentice Program that includes written and practical exams and all training deemed necessary by the Company and Joint Training Committee to keep up with the new technology as determined on an annual basis. Must be physically capable of handling parts, materials and equipment (including test equipment) as needed. Requires little supervision. Progression through the steps must be within prescribed time limits, if not the employee will be removed from the Maintenance department and returned to an available position within the highest classification for which he/she is qualified. To provide further training, it may be required to transfer employee to another shift regardless of seniority. These periods will last no longer than sixty (60) days per occurrence.

Requirements

  • Experience in performing electromechanical repairs, welding, hydraulic troubleshooting and blueprint reading.
  • Experience in pneumatics, relay logic and PLC’s.
  • Operation of a variety of hand and powered tools including, but not limited to, surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, and measuring tools is necessary for this position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, blue prints and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must possess a good attendance record.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
