Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role involves working independently or with industry specialists to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with production machinery, setting up, running, troubleshooting, and tearing down production machinery. The goal is to keep designated machinery in running condition and minimize downtime through effective preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and management. The mechanic will troubleshoot machinery errors during production times, communicate issues with machines to production management, and work with Machine Operators to ensure machines are running safely and properly. This includes estimating sizes, distances, and quantities, and determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work activities. Additionally, the role involves inspecting subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies, and taking corrective action.
