About The Position

Under the direction of the medical center's Engineering Supervisor/Manager of Building Maintenance, the Maintenance Mechanic Plumber is responsible for maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and inspecting a variety of systems throughout the medical center. This role also involves performing all duties of a Building Maintenance Mechanic II when assigned building maintenance duties. During LEAK Protocol situations, the individual will be responsible for communicating the status and outcomes with all affected areas via email, phone, and texting updates. The position requires ensuring an understanding of TMMC fire, disaster, and safety procedures as outlined in the respective manuals, and knowing one's personal role in case of emergencies during the assigned shift. The role also involves following all safety procedures set forth in the Engineering policy and procedure manual, coordinating job activities with appropriate department personnel, and demonstrating the ability to train and mentor department staff on tasks and responsibilities outlined in the Maintenance Mechanic I and II job descriptions. Additionally, the individual must introduce themselves and request permission before entering private areas. A key aspect of this role is the ability to independently complete complex plumbing repairs while effectively collaborating and communicating with multiple tradesmen to ensure projects and repairs meet TMMC standards.

Requirements

  • 8 years of Commercial Plumbing/Construction/Building Maintenance experience.
