Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Able to lift 100 pounds, push/pull 300 pounds, lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and otherwise position items being worked upon
  • Able to work around hot metal equipment, on lift equipment in the building ceiling, and on the building roof
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Electrical/Electronic experience
  • Computer operating skills required
  • Solid mechanical skills
  • Proficiency in technical reading a must

  • High aptitude for math is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge and experience in plant systems and equipment to meet the maintenance support needs of Luvata Ohio, Inc.
  • Maintains the physical plant, machinery, equipment, and miscellaneous devices used for plant utilities, plant systems, and all production, service, and administrative departments.
  • Uses preventive and corrective maintenance techniques to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Uses miscellaneous hand and powered tools, pullers, jacks, rigging devices, fork trucks, calipers, measuring devices, and basic machine tools.
  • Performs all job duties in accordance with applicable standards, techniques, drawings, and equipment specifications, and interprets instructions, drawings, and guidance manuals.
  • Works routinely with high speed equipment, high pressure systems, structural members, piping, valves, gauges, and miscellaneous devices.
  • Assists in maintaining safe and orderly working conditions and performs work in such a manner as to not endanger oneself or fellow employees.
  • Responsible for cleanup and general housekeeping of work area.
  • Responsible for keeping supervisor informed of work-related problems and the progress of work assignments.
  • Works under general supervision with guidance and instruction provided on most work assignments.
  • Responds, as required, to telephone pages when assigned to be "on call".
  • Maintains a record of labor hours spent on specific jobs and fills out reports as required.
