About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for analyzing and solving electro/mechanical problems of processing, packing, and auxiliary equipment. This role will assist manufacturing personnel with process-related problems, execute assigned projects under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, and work with low and high voltage transformers, motors, motor starters, and switchgear. The position also involves performing changeovers, supporting line startups, executing established Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks, identifying new PM activities, performing maintenance building activities, and maintaining daily records of work performed on MP2 maintenance software. The role requires representing the company through its operating model and core values, focusing on quality and technical system adherence, completion of production to plan, health and safety, and impeccable hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of “Best Safety Practices” and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot unsafe conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Utilize daily forklift safety checklist.
  • Demonstrate superior knowledge of all quality systems and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Complete and document all product quality checks (appearance, packaging etc…).
  • Complete and document all food safety checks as required by the plant HACCP program.
  • Complete and document all product quality checks as required by the plant MCP program.
  • Actively participate in preventing and correcting potential quality related issues and food safety investigations.
  • Communicate and interact with others in a manner consistent with the company’s “Grooves” and “I Can Make A Difference Philosophies”.
  • Initiate, organize, and actively participate in team meetings, committees and task forces.
  • Exceed expectation with regard to attendance and other guidelines.

  • Execute assigned projects under the direction of Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Read and follow blue prints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Work on low and high voltage transformers, motors, motor starters, and switchgear.
  • Perform change over and support line start ups.
  • Perform established Preventative Maintenance and identify new PM activities as needed.
  • Perform maintenance building activities.
  • Maintain daily record of work performed on MP2 maintenance software.

  • Ensure that preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time and lead to a significant reduction in equipment breakdowns and failures.
  • Maximize equipment uptime and reliability, minimizing unscheduled downtime and production disruptions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex equipment issues, resulting in quicker issue resolution.
  • Continuously reduce response times to maintenance requests, addressing critical issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Measure and optimize the efficiency of work order completion, including the time taken to complete tasks and the quality of work performed.
  • Act as a safety leader, ensuring that maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations, leading safety training, and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Ensure completion of the required production to plan.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene standards always.
  • Practice "Clean as you go"; use proper cleaning techniques (i.e. limited water hose usage).
