About The Position

Essential Duties/Functions Essential Duties are those that are critical, integral, necessary, crucial, primary, and/or fundamental. These essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform. Diagnoses, maintains and repairs industrial electrical equipment at various voltages and phases Maintains and repairs industrial mechanical equipment Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings. Ensures installations complies with electrical codes. Installs conduits and pipes to electrical wires and cables. Installs circuit breakers, safety disconnects and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them. Tests electrical systems and components to ensure proper installation and operation. Coordinate with the production and other departments for feedback on the functionality of machinery and equipment. Report all defects and damages to the Maintenance Manager. Comply with the industry standards and safety regulations of working. Perform all preventative and predictive maintenance as required. Complete all tasks as delegated by the supervising authority. Maintain all records of the repair and maintenance works conducted in the facilities. Efficiently manage time and meet all specified deadlines. Ensure all proper Maintenance manuals and equipment manuals are kept up to date and properly stored. Perform inventories of all critical spare parts and ensure availability. Keep Maintenance storage areas inventoried, organized and clean. Performs other related duties as assigned. Monitor and keep all facility air handling, lighting, emergency equipment and structure are kept in good working order.

Requirements

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified school.
  • Basic mechanical skillset.
  • 2-year certificate in a relevant Electrical program
  • 3 years practical industry experience
  • Knowledge of basic math and have good attention to detail.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical tools
  • Employee must have RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) hazardous waste training within 6 months of assuming job duties and annually thereafter.
  • Employee must have universal waste training.
  • Employee must be trained and certified in UST Operator Training Class A, B &C and every 4 years thereafter.
  • Employee must complete all online safety training as outlined for the Maintenance group.
  • Employee must have training and be certified on any powered equipment (FLT, pallet jack, scissor lift) before operating and then complete refresher training every 3 years thereafter.
  • Employee must have training on yearly on Emergency planning, including fire safety.
  • Employee must be familiar with SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills such as emailing, researching parts, scanning documents, and operating a smart device.
  • Must have excellent written as well as verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Employee must bend, sit, squat, walk, climb, push/pull heavy objects using appropriate equipment.
  • Employee must reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements.
  • Employee may be exposed at times to excessive noise, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and/or humidity.
  • Employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, and chemicals
  • Employee must be able to carry/lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
