Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing mechanical activities and work associated with maintaining the facility and site operations. You will have the opportunity to: Troubleshoot systems and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of malfunction Perform preventative maintenance work such as roll changes, lubrication, replacement of belts and bearings to maintain equipment reliability Dismantle and assemble machines and perform repairs with the use of power and hand tools. Rebuilds pumps, annealing furnaces and other equipment Plan and lay out work according to models, blueprints, and drawings or other written/oral specifications Perform tasks such as welding, machining using manual lathe/mill, wood carpentry and metal fabrication. Ability to use precise measuring devices such as calipers, dial indicators and tape measures Repair and install water, steam, gas or other type of pipe and fittings Attend and actively participate in safety, quality, and environmental initiatives or events as required Use CMMS to perform work order completions and preventative maintenance tasks. Assists lead-person and supervision with the assigning, scheduling and prioritization of work order requests Assist in installing, moving, and relocating equipment Accomplish snow removal duties during winter months. Ability to use fork truck and ground equipment Consult with supervision/lead and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting. Keeps others informed of progress and problems that arise Make recommendations for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
  • Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred graduate of a recognized Millwright/Mechanic trade school/program with subjects that include blueprint reading, machining, fabrication, rigging, and welding
  • Preferred 3-5 years of on-the-job experience as a millwright/mechanic within an industrial/chemical/pharmaceutical setting
