Maintenance Mechanic II – 2nd Shift
About The Position
PolyPeptide is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to support the reliability and performance of our production equipment and facility systems in a GMP-regulated environment. This is a hands-on role for a skilled technician who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and keeping operations running safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Mechanic II performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and facility systems across the site. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime, supporting production, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or GMP environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, motors, and HVAC
- Basic experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Nice To Haves
- Technical certification or associate degree preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in cleanroom and regulated environments
- Familiarity with PLC systems or automation controls (a plus)
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as pumps, compressors, vacuum systems, reactors, and HVAC units
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools
- Maintain accurate cGMP documentation, PM records, and equipment logs
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work to support production uptime
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs as needed
- Assist with equipment installations and facility upgrades
- Follow all safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, chemical handling)
- Provide input on equipment performance and reliability improvements
