Maintain, troubleshoot and repair production and/or facilities equipment in accordance with established manufacturing procedures to achieve efficiency, quality and optimum production objectives. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, modifying, repairing, and/or rebuilding a variety of plant and facility equipment, including forklifts. The mechanic will also repair equipment during mechanical breakdowns, assist other staff in repairs, and aid production personnel in change-overs and set-ups. Responsibilities include dismantling defective machines, troubleshooting basic electrical problems, learning to read blueprints and schematics, and gaining knowledge in various skilled trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pipefitting. The position also requires learning and utilizing SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process, production schedules, HMI control panels, and machine controls.
