About The Position

This position is for a Plant Maintenance Mechanic/Crusher Operator in the Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials department. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of welding, fabrication, repair estimation, and operation of various machinery including cranes, forklifts, and front-end loaders. The individual will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of crushing and screening equipment, as well as related plant machinery for aggregate, decorative, and ready-mix materials. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues within the plant equipment is a key responsibility. The role demands a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to maintain records. A valid in-state driver's license is required, and the candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of preventive and corrective repairs on cone crushers, jaw crushers, roll crushers, conveyors, screening, and all plants related to aggregate, decorative, and ready-mix materials.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions of aggregate processing plants.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Valid in-state driver’s license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Valid mining certificate with MSHA part #46 training.
• Knowledge of 480 volts and 480 amps service.

Nice To Haves

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in rock crushing, screening, and wash plant equipment.
• Commercial driver’s license is extremely helpful.
• Qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes (Indian Preference).

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of welding and fabrication.
• Estimate repairs for plant equipment.
• Operate required machinery, including crane, forklift, and front-end loader.
• Operate all phases of welding equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective repairs on cone crushers, jaw crushers, roll crushers, conveyors, and screening equipment.
• Maintain and repair all plants related to aggregate, decorative, and ready-mix materials.
• Troubleshoot all plant equipment for repairs.
• Maintain records.
• Perform other related duties as required.
