About The Position

TIC is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for their project located in Abilene, TX. This role requires maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing all types of heavy construction equipment, including hydraulic, electric, and power train systems. The mechanic will work with equipment from brands such as Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, and Takeuchi, and utilize diagnostic systems like CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Diesel Laptop.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Must be able to maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy construction equipment including hydraulic, electric, and power train systems.
  • Experience working with the following equipment: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, Takeuchi.
  • Experience working with the following diagnostic systems: CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, Diesel Laptop.
  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
  • Must have required tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy construction equipment including hydraulic, electric, and power train systems.
  • Work with equipment from brands such as Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, and Takeuchi.
  • Utilize diagnostic systems like CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Diesel Laptop.
  • Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Work in a construction environment with exposure to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
  • Use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
  • Complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
  • Use required tools.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical and non DOT physical test.
