About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic B- 1st Shift at our Los Angeles, CA plant (Near Glendale Metro). Core 1st shift hours for this role are 5:30am - 2pm Monday - Friday. With almost 300 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry. The hourly rate for this position is $30.54 per hour. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of CNC repair maintenance experience in an industrial electrical/mechanical trade
  • Candidates must reside within a 50 mile distance of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
  • Basic understanding of PLC logic and machine programming
  • Basic understanding and ability to read electrical/mechanical blueprints, schematics, manuals and procedures
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of municipal electrical code applicable to installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Experience repairing machine shop equipment including CNC machines.
  • Must adhere to and support Eaton’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision, and be self-motivated.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather.
  • Ability to read and write English proficiently.
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years or more of documented CNC repair maintenance experience in an industrial electrical/mechanical trade preferred
  • Background in machining and electrical equipment
  • Experience with hydraulic systems

Responsibilities

  • Repairing, installing, adjusting, or maintaining industrial production equipment and Machining equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs to plant machines, facility infrastructure and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with operators to observe, test, and evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical malfunctions and replace defective parts.
  • Perform test-runs on repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
  • Support installation of new and/or used manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Forklift and scissor lift operation.
