Maintenance Master Planner/Scheduler

About The Position

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing and integrating all in-house and contractor routine maintenance activities into a single schedule for execution on a weekly basis. This role also ensures all maintenance and capital activities are appropriately planned and integrated into a single schedule for optimal utilization before and during the turnaround/outage execution. The position involves leading a consistent integrated outage planning and scheduling process for Turnaround/Outage, driving accountability through detailed milestone tracking and resource-loaded plans during pre-Turnaround and Turnaround execution. The role requires developing and maintaining integrated planning and scheduling documentation for turnarounds utilizing SAP, Microsoft Project Web Add (PWA), and Power BI for reporting and tracking progress. Collaboration with Maintenance Planners is key to developing and maintaining the portfolio resource scheduling for integrated Large TAR activities, enabling TAR managers to make decisions on in-sourcing and out-sourcing needs. The position also leads project activities with site planners and operations partners to ensure assigned resources are fully utilized and adhere to time constraints. Oversight and maintenance of master planning database(s) are critical, ensuring accurate and timely entry of TAR schedules by cross-functional partners. Monthly reports detailing TAR preparation activities, work in progress, and post-TAR accounts/summaries are required, along with presentations to Plant and Senior Leadership. The role adheres to established Turnaround Milestone plans and work practices, controlling schedule impacts and complying with the planning and scheduling of overall TAR executions across all three AdvanSix sites. Collaboration across sites is essential for effective TAR execution, schedule compliance, and planning continuity to support maintenance and operational efficiency. Championing safety is a core function, working closely with site planners and TAR managers to schedule internal and external resources with risk and mitigation for assigned plant Turnarounds, both small and large outages. The role leads resource coordination between site capital engineering and maintenance planners' developed schedules and assists in determining key execution integrated milestones. Compliance with AdvanSix Quality policy, safety principles, and corporate values and strategies is mandatory.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of planning, execution, and scheduling for maintenance or capital construction experience in chemical or similar industries
  • Must have initiative, self-organization and ability to tactfully deal with peers and superiors.
  • Possesses strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to communicate to all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to use influencing skills to accomplish goals and objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated capital and Maintenance Turnaround in the chemical facilities.
  • Microsoft Project/P6/Primavera knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in support of Turnaround development from planning and scheduling, and an ability to understand engineering and maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize steps which need to be undertaken for development of milestone Turnaround deliverables for tasks completion, arrange and support development of necessary resources loaded schedule required to execute a project and communicate to stake holders gaps, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with the capital and supply chain cross function.
  • Demonstration of fostering good relations with both capital and maintenance Turnaround planners and stake holders, and contractors, obtain feedback and ensure on-going co-operation
  • Ability to appropriately change responses, techniques or approaches to situations or problems related to work operations to achieve a desired result.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a consistent integrated outage planning and scheduling process for Turnaround / Outage.
  • Driving accountability through detailed milestone tracking and resource loaded plans during pre-Turnaround and Turnaround execution.
  • Develop and maintain integrated planning and scheduling documentation for turnarounds utilizing SAP, Microsoft Project Web Add (PWA), and Power BI development for reporting and tracking progress.
  • Work closely providing direction as needed to Maintenance Planners to develop and maintain the portfolio resource scheduling for the integrated Large TAR activities to enable TAR managers to make decisions on in-sourcing and out-sourcing needs.
  • Lead project activities in conjunction with site planners and operation’s partners to ensure assigned resources are followed through in their entirety, and adhering to all time constraints outlined in project package design.
  • Oversight and maintenance of master planning database(s), including ensuring all TAR schedules are accurately and timely entered by cross functional partners.
  • Prepare monthly reports in detailing TAR preparation activities, work in process, and post TAR accounts/summaries.

Benefits

  • The base salary for this role is $95,000 to $142,600 annually.
