The Maintenance Manager oversees all physical plant operations, ensuring the facility’s systems, equipment, and grounds run safely, smoothly, and reliably. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an appropriate technical/trade school preferred.
  • Current valid driver’s license from the State in which the facility operates.
  • Five years of experience in building maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • At least one year of long-term care facility experience preferred.
  • Building Codes and regulations for plant equipment operation.
  • HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical systems expertise.
  • OSHA Safety and other regulatory knowledge.
  • Ability to direct, motivate, and support maintenance staff.
  • Comfortable interacting with residents, families, and team members at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance and repair projects across the building and grounds to ensure a safe, functional environment.
  • Schedules and oversees third-party repair services when specialized work is required.
  • Directs maintenance activities for heat, steam, electrical, gas, and air systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Designs and implements proactive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Prepares departmental budgets and monitors expenditures to maintain cost-effective operations.
  • Recommends enhancements to equipment, systems, and workflows.
  • Orders tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for daily operations.
  • Reviews new product plans and collaborates with engineers on equipment needs and modifications.
  • Leads efforts to maintain attractive, well-kept outdoor spaces.
  • Participates in facility-wide quality and efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintains consistent, punctual attendance for assigned shifts.
  • Oversees Housekeeping and Laundry Personnel and creates a work schedule.
  • General Tasks as assigned.
  • Compliance with company policies, federal/state regulations, and professional standards.
  • Safety Regulations including annual fire life safety and water system requirements.
  • Supervises the Maintenance Assistant when applicable.
