About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead and foster collaboration within the maintenance team. This role involves ensuring mechanics and PM techs are properly trained and supported, maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies, and overseeing inventory control and equipment maintenance. The manager will train mechanics in diagnostics and repair techniques for garbage trucks and heavy equipment, assign and schedule work, coordinate external repairs, and test vehicles to troubleshoot and verify repairs. Additionally, the role includes managing parts purchasing, vendor pricing, assisting with financial projections and budgeting, and keeping departmental costs within budget.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in truck, light, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair (waste industry experience a plus).
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
Ability to plan, budget, and manage multiple projects.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities.
