The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the shop safety policy, procedures, and regulations are implemented, and a safe working environment is provided in all maintenance areas. This role coordinates with the Operations Department to ensure vehicle readiness, implements corrective actions to maximize vehicle availability, and minimizes late pull-outs. The Manager ensures the implementation of a detailed Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) program for each vehicle type, operating facility, and equipment, compliant with OEM, Client, and Keolis Standards. They are responsible for achieving all maintenance-related contract performance standards, leveraging knowledge of contractual maintenance requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and maintenance P&L to direct operations compliantly and fiscally responsibly. Performance measures are utilized daily to manage mechanic productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability, with continuous improvement plans implemented. Compliance with Keolis’ Maintenance and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures, including PMI Audits, is ensured. Root cause analyses for road calls, late pull-outs, and vehicle readiness are routinely performed, with adjustments to maintenance processes to prevent recurring problems. Maintenance technicians are trained on current operating procedures, properly equipped, and motivated for safe, timely, and cost-effective maintenance. Employee scheduling, supervision of mechanics and shop workers, and conducting routine toolbox meetings are key responsibilities. The Manager is responsible for hiring, discipline, salary adjustments, training, employee development, directing work, handling grievances, and performance reviews. They approve the priority of maintenance and repairs based on material availability and operational requirements, oversee efficient repair schedules, review cost estimates, and coordinate work with outside vendors. Inventory control of parts, tires, lubricants, and fuel is managed. Fleet maintenance is scheduled and administered, with assistance in troubleshooting equipment problems. Day-to-day compliance with State, Federal, Company, and Client requirements is ensured. Participation in the development and administration of operational and/or capital budgets is required, working closely with the general manager and regional maintenance management to provide status updates and budget requirements. Financial and budget variances are reviewed, along with repair orders and account payable documents. Special projects as assigned will be completed, and hands-on work activities are required.
