About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will oversee waterpark maintenance operations to achieve objectives for ride maintenance, ride checks, repairs, costs, guest service satisfaction, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. The manager will oversee and perform day-to-day operations of the Maintenance department, evaluate systems and facilities to determine maintenance needs, and assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules. Ensuring that maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner is crucial. The position also requires ensuring all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance programs. A key aspect of the role is ensuring guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service. Daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all waterpark rides are mandatory. The role includes preparing required paperwork, managing tasks related to audits and inspections by outside agencies, and operating, maintaining, and servicing related pumps, motors, valves, vessels, filters, chemical feed equipment, and other miscellaneous mechanical and electrical equipment, while also assigning and supervising other associates in these tasks. The Maintenance Manager must ensure the waterpark is maintained so guests are not inconvenienced by repairs, and is responsible for the coordination and execution of safe work practices. Maintaining cleanliness in all work areas, keeping records of all activities performed during the shift, and performing required tests and chemical analysis on water are also key responsibilities. The role requires working shifts as needed and being available for on-call status for emergencies. Maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies and making necessary purchases with manager approval is required. The position involves filling in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations, and completing and staying current in all required training. Understanding all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs is essential. Other duties as deemed appropriate by the management team may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of maintenance experience required.
  • Must be able to traverse property, equipment and facility to diagnose building or ride issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Possible heavy workloads; exerting over 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or other wise move objects.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching involved.
  • Must be able to work in warm/humid settings and hot/humid weather for outdoor waterpark environments.
  • Be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • May be required to be exposed to all types of weather.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, and county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the associates and guests.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, and county and municipal regulations that pertain to rides safety, inspections, and yearly inspection with all authorities.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year waterpark maintenance experience, preferred.
  • HVAC, Plumbing and Electric experience, preferred.
  • CPO certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee waterpark maintenance operations necessary to achieve stated objectives for ride maintenance, ride checks, repairs, costs, guest service satisfaction, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as necessary.
  • Oversee and perform the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance department.

  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Ensure that all waterpark rides are inspected daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Prepare all required paperwork as necessary.
