About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for instituting, reviewing, and rationalizing all preventive maintenance (PMs) to improve the PM program, reduce downtime, and lower overall maintenance costs. This role requires managing a multi-technical team across multiple shifts, ensuring open and effective communication within the department, with other departments, external contractors, and vendors. The manager will also lead corrective action and continuous improvement teams, approve associate timecards, and ensure accurate completion of attendance paperwork. Experience with PLC, Robotics, and strong mechanical aptitude are essential. The position involves assessing and developing associate training needs to enhance skills through internal coaching, external training, and other methods. The manager will effectively direct department associates, assess performance, provide evaluations, administer discipline, oversee vacation and overtime, and ensure all department/plant programs and activities comply with company procedures, policies, and labor laws. Responsibilities include scheduling and ensuring timely completion of facility and equipment work orders, coordinating weekly schedules to optimize skilled trade effectiveness, and planning, scheduling, and managing all shutdown-related activities. The role also involves establishing and maintaining a positive, service-oriented atmosphere and ensuring timely repair of production equipment. This includes constructing, maintaining, and testing equipment, machinery, and components, and ensuring repair parts are readily available. The manager will establish fiscal year budgetary needs, recommend capital improvements, and justify and implement these improvements. Driving productivity, safety, and process improvement opportunities is key. The role requires utilizing instructions, manuals, and forms to perform job functions and recommending improvements to internal systems. Monthly QOS reporting and identifying performance gaps to established goals are also required. Flexibility and willingness to assist with tasks as deemed necessary by the General Manager are expected.

Requirements

  • Four years' experience with applicable skilled trade, and/or journeyman experience, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical certificate and/or associate degree, with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Experience with PLC, Robotics and a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
