About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Manager, and serving as an expert in maintenance and reliability, the Maintenance Manager’s mission is to contribute to the achievement of his or her unit's operational strategy by coordinating maintenance activities in collaboration with production. In addition, you ensure that your group's OHS objectives are met by developing and implementing the reliability program and effectively managing equipment availability. You also build a mobilized and competent team and support their initiatives to improve maintenance practices. Finally, you ensure rigorous follow-up of maintenance processes to optimize your unit's operational efficiency and performance.

Requirements

5+ years of experience leading maintenance teams in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment required
Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting background.
Proven leadership capabilities with a collaborative approach that motivates and engages teams to achieve operational excellence.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a high degree of tact and professionalism.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel and Power BI.
Demonstrated data-driven mindset with experience in performance reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong focus on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance, best practices.
Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions and rallying your team around objectives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Rigour and agility to handle projects based on their scope, budget and timelines
Ability to help team members develop and achieve their goals
Ability to carry out a number of projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines
Ability to support and advise business partners on occupational health and safety issues
Proficiency in written and spoken French and basic knowledge of English
Agility needed to work with various technological tools

Nice To Haves

paper industry experience preferred
Experience working with SAP maintenance and asset management systems preferred
Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the maintenance Safety culture and enforce safe work practices, policies and accountability.
Utilize LEAN manufacturing experience to drive the strategic plan and support continued implementation of LEAN methodologies and tools.
Drive asset reliability programs and processes that support operations objectives.
Participate in the annual action planning process and budget development.
Prepare and execute investment and asset maintenance plans, shutdowns, and meet return on investment targets.
Engage and develop employees for personal & professional growth.
In accordance with established business rules and best practices, ensure compliance with Cascades’ business processes in the plant.
Support and lead maintenance team KPI’s and quality of work.
Communicate, lead, and support the plan that will achieve targets in terms of production capacity, standardization of operating costs, quality, engagement and health and safety.
Develop and implement your business unit’s reliability program
Reach your business unit’s equipment availability targets
Develop and adhere to your business unit’s maintenance budgets
Achieve the maintenance group’s OHS performance targets
Implement operational maintenance excellence processes and monitor them rigorously
Ensure optimal execution of operations through the attainment of occupational health and safety targets
Engage and develop all your employees
Establish priorities for maintenance activities and coordinate them in collaboration with production
