Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: Manufacturing Unit Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the factory Maintenance, Facilities and Tool Room teams in the planning and implementation of initiatives that maintain and improve the reliability, effectiveness, and/or efficiency of equipment, technical infrastructure, production lines, and/or facilities. Each day, you will develop and implement equipment life cycle management procedures for optimizing costs and profitability. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and proposing improvement projects for processes and production lines to reduce both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. The work model for the role is: Onsite in Vega Baja. This role is contributing to the ELIP Division in Puerto Rico. Main stakeholders are ABB Installation Products Caribe, LLC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical preferred
  • Five + years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance, engineering, or operations-related role.
  • Hands-on experience with molding and press manufacturing processes, including troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and preventive maintenance.
  • Proven experience in facilities management and project management, including planning, budgeting, contractor oversight, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Strong judgment and initiative, with the ability to identify priorities, resolve issues efficiently, adapt to changing conditions, and determine the most effective methods to complete work.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising technical teams, developing talent, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Proposes and manages the annual maintenance and Stakon Tool Room budgets.
  • Monitors the costs and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources and determines actions to cost issues as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the Engineering department in the definition of maintenance plans for new production lines and recommends methods to improve reliability, ongoing maintenance, and safety of equipment.
  • Defines maintenance policies and processes that drive maximum efficiency of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.
  • Develops and implements life cycle management procedures for all new and existing equipment.
  • Develops and proposes improvement projects for processes and production lines to reduce both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.
  • Ensures that group and local health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives are implemented and understood to ensure safety of people and resources.
