About The Position

Oversee and manage the implementation of plant maintenance, machine maintenance, and preventative maintenance program utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. Improve on the current system to remove any inefficiencies and cost deterrents. Use the data within the CMMS to develop and justify cost saving opportunities and improve equipment performance. Identify, source and work with outside vendors. Comply with Environmental/Safety Equipment/facility requirements and regulations. Develop and drive Continuous Improvement projects (TPI3) to bolster the maintenance system. Lead, motivate, mentor and direct activities of maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • Five-year college or university program degree.
  • Minimum four years of experience in maintenance management.
  • Strong engineering knowledge including basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize tasks/projects based on business needs.
  • Ability to be an effective leader.
  • Must be self-motivated and focused on process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a plastics manufacturing facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the record keeping for all service and maintenance performed on the machinery.
  • Coordinates with production on the job setups and scheduling of down times for repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Establish and maintain an effective parts system.
  • Manage the Installation maintenance and repair of production, facility, and support equipment.
  • Provide hands on leadership and team support when needed.
  • Insure the regular and preventative maintenance on production and support equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop quality of work audits to Insure work performed meets COMAR expectations of quality.
  • Give guidance and direction to the team when needed.
  • Ensure Maintenance team is properly trained on their job duties and proper use of the CMMS system.
  • Engage, train, motivate and develop progression plans for the maintenance team.
  • Supervise and give guidance to the hourly employees in the Maintenance Department.
  • Interview, hire, and train new hires.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Manage and control costs for vendor services.
  • Verify vendor services performed per COMAR standards.
  • Ensure vendors are trained comply with COMAR’s Safety requirements while on company premises.
  • Manage vendor activities.
  • Ensures that all environmental/facility permits and reports are up to date.
  • Ensures that various facility and equipment inspections are performed as well as basic facility maintenance.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and deterrence’s are present and operational.
  • Ensure all maintenance adheres to LOTO.
  • Verify training on an annual basis.
  • Promote cleanliness and safety policies and procedures throughout the entire company utilizing tools such as lean manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma.
  • Investigates and diagnoses causes of breakdowns and develops programs and solutions to reduce or eliminate future occurrences.
  • Investigate equipment, plant and system inefficiencies and using TPI3 develop course of action.
