About The Position

We manufacture a variety of consumer brands including wood pellets for home heating, BBQ pellets for grilling, wood pellets and shavings for animal bedding, and a wood fiber-based cat litter. Our products are linked by a recycled, renewable, sustainable, and carbon neutral story, turning recycled sawdust into value-add, branded consumer products. The Maintenance Manager position has the responsibility to lead the maintenance program for the Brownsville Plant. This role ensures the safety of Lignetics and contract personnel through best safety practices, implements a maintenance program based on a solid strategy, hires and retains great people, and provides their team members with the tools to significantly reduce unplanned plant stops. The manager is responsible for the development of a team of craftsmen and a planner, managing the implementation and operation of the site's CMMS (MVP), and supporting the planner in the kitting and planning process. They will also maintain the stores systems, develop capital appropriation requests, manage and participate in equipment rebuilds or repairs, drive improvement in maintenance systems through the Maintenance Excellence program, provide regular reports to the Plant Manager, and participate in employee performance management. The Maintenance Manager will also stand in for the Plant Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or equivalent industry experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management systems
  • PLC knowledge a plus
  • Situational leadership
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Time Based/Condition Based maintenance routine development
  • Experience with Predictive maintenance tools such as Vibration Monitoring, Thermography and Oil sampling
  • Ability to multitask
  • Analytical thinking and outstanding RCA skills
  • Solid Project planning & implementation skillset
  • Experience developing/implementation/managing TPM programs preferred
  • Office and ERP system experience is preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Sage)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety of Lignetics and contract personnel through use of best safety practices (LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, Safety Concern Forms, incident investigation, etc.)
  • Responsible for implementing a maintenance program based on a solid strategy, hiring retaining great people and providing their team members with the tools to significantly reduce the unplanned stops at the plant
  • Responsible for the development of a team of craftsmen and a planner
  • Manage the implementation and operation of the sites CMMS (MVP). Site is using the equipment module, the work order module, the stores module and the PM module
  • Support the planner in the kitting and planning process for both planned and opportunity maintenance
  • Maintain the stores systems and ensures parts are on hand as needed
  • Develops capital appropriation requests by consulting, obtain bids, and work closely with outside contractors
  • Manage and participate in the rebuild or repair of pellet mills, conveyors, screws, gearboxes, chains using hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Drive improvement in all maintenance systems by learning and supporting the Maintenance Excellence program
  • Provide regular reports to Plant Manager regarding safety and maintenance concerns and projects
  • Participate in employee performance management, hiring, disciplinary and annual/development review
  • Stand in for the Plant Manager in their absence
