The Maintenance Manager actively supervises employees in the everyday coordination, execution, and planning of maintenance efforts, including a 24/7 maintenance team. This role reports to the Site Manager, providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities, and informing the Site Manager of any information that may impede plant operations. The position involves initiating and/or maintaining a cost-effective preventive maintenance program, implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas, and managing machine reliability initiatives. The Maintenance Manager will also contact and work with vendors and subcontractors, maintain adequate inventories of spare parts, and purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and solving problems, making data-driven decisions, identifying and addressing potential safety issues proactively, and planning, scheduling, and monitoring the timely completion of maintenance work orders. The role also requires maintaining good working relationships with plant management, supervisory staff, and hourly employees, upholding good housekeeping practices, and communicating positively and effectively. Participation in weekly, monthly, semiannual, and annual safety and environmental audits is also expected.
