Job Responsibilities: Scope of Position Manages and schedules the repair and maintenance of company facilities, manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Coordinates outside maintenance contractors for both regular and emergency repairs ensuring that energy resources are available and properly utilized. Supervises employees engaged in plant and machine maintenance, alteration and repair work. Provides continuous technical direction to maintenance and tooling staff and provides support for the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or technical training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems, machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • Experience managing maintenance staff and coordinating contractors.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, trade standards, and best practices in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, schedule, and oversee maintenance work for all company facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Coordinate outside contractors for regular and emergency repairs, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Supervise maintenance employees, including technicians and apprentices, providing training, coaching, and development to ensure technical competence.
  • Ensure safe installation, repair, and operation of all equipment.
  • Maintain and manage all equipment and facility documentation, including machine manuals, circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, spare part lists, and work orders.
  • Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance systems, ensuring they are understood and followed by all team members.
  • Allocate jobs to employees, ensuring proper training, use of tools, and adherence to safety and work instructions.
  • Select and manage reliable suppliers for spare parts and contractors, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Ensure shift maintenance reporting is processed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor team performance, providing reports and analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the manufacturing team’s continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with trade standards, safety regulations, and company policies in all maintenance activities.
  • Promote high standards of quality, integrity, teamwork, and safety throughout the maintenance team.
