About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations within a gummy manufacturing facility to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems. This role provides hands-on leadership to maintenance technicians while overseeing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment reliability, food safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. What Success Looks Like * Maximize equipment uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance and rapid problem resolution. * Develop a skilled, accountable maintenance team focused on safety, performance, and continuous improvement. * Ensure GMP, food safety, and regulatory compliance through disciplined maintenance practices and documentation. * Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience within food manufacturing, beverage, pharmaceutical, or FDA-regulated environments with minimum 1 year of supervisory or lead maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting expertise.
  • Strong Pneumatics / PLC-controlled equipment troubleshooting expertise (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience using CMMS systems for work orders and PM management-Required.
  • Hands-on leadership with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to prioritize work in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification, trade school training, or associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Systems, or related field preferred.
  • HVAC/Refrigeration systems experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities across assigned shifts and departments.
  • Ensure timely troubleshooting, repair, and restoration of production equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Drive equipment uptime and operational reliability through effective maintenance execution while supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs through CMMS utilization.
  • Assist in identifying chronic equipment issues, participate in root cause analysis (RCA), and escalate recurring reliability concerns to leadership.
  • Assign work priorities based on production needs, downtime risks, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, and company safety standards while supporting facility audits and corrective action activities related to maintenance and infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space and safety procedures are followed at all times, and maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Support onboarding, training, and technical development of maintenance personnel.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first maintenance culture focused on operational support and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper shift communication and work handoff between maintenance teams.
