About The Position

The Maintenance Manager at our Feasterville, PA production and distribution facility has overall strategic and operational responsibility for asset reliability, failure prevention programs, and parts inventory/purchasing management. This hands-on leadership role directs a team of maintenance technicians across a multi-shift and multi-building environment, overseeing employee development, setting clear performance accountabilities, and navigating potential union dynamics. The Maintenance Manager serves as the technical Subject Matter Expert (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) responsible for balancing reactive troubleshooting with robust preventive maintenance schedules, maximizing equipment uptime (OEE, MTTR), and conducting root-cause failure analyses. Exercising high discretion, budget control, and independent judgment, this position closely partners with cross-functional production teams to drive continuous improvement, safety compliance, and maximum operational availability.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical experience with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Proven track record in team building, setting expectations, and establishing employee accountability.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and diagnosing root causes of asset failure.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree, certification, or formal training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience managing maintenance personnel within a unionized workforce.
  • Experience designing and sustaining formal preventive maintenance (PM) and asset reliability programs.
  • Direct experience managing departmental budgets, contractor services, capital expenditures, and parts inventory/purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance activities to meet regulatory, corporate, and site compliance guidelines.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and coordinate necessary repairs to minimize distribution downtime.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance activities to meet plant reliability goals and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure operational availability of assets by maintaining and executing strict preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain flexibility for evening and weekend work to support uninterrupted production operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment to maximize asset reliability and efficiency.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to provide technical directions to technicians and supervisory personnel.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including equipment uptime, MTTR, and OEE.
  • Conduct Failure Analysis on critical assets to eliminate root causes of failure and prevent future occurrences.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, implement new technologies, and drive efficiency.
  • Manage all maintenance personnel, including hiring, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Mentor and train technicians to provide increased equipment effectiveness and ensure program sustainability.
  • Generate detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and operational metrics.
  • Travel between local buildings (FEA & IVY) and other regional facilities to support operational uptime.
  • Manage parts inventory and oversee departmental purchasing activities.
  • Control the maintenance budget, including parts spend, contractor services, and cost mitigation.
  • Participate in the quality assurance of new builds and modifications to ensure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Diagnose equipment issues effectively using advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Work closely with production managers, engineers, and other departments to address equipment issues impacting operations.
  • Collaborate with existing associates to become familiar with current Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability policies.
  • Lead team members using production knowledge and strong communication skills to align goals across groups and individuals.
