About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This role oversees preventive and predictive maintenance programs, supports capital projects and equipment upgrades, and works closely with operations to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The successful candidate will lead a small maintenance team while driving process improvements that enhance operational performance and support long-term business goals.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Industrial Electrician, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, processing, or production environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading maintenance, reliability, engineering, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and improving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems.
  • Experience leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs, maintenance planning, and CMMS administration.
  • Proven ability to balance hands-on problem solving with long-term strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading capital projects, equipment installations, commissioning, and process optimization efforts.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supervising maintenance employees, contractors, or technical teams.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Industrial Electrician, or other relevant trade certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence programs.
  • Experience developing SOPs, FMEAs, maintenance standards, and processing documentation.
  • Experience tracking and improving KPIs such as OEE, downtime, PM completion, waste, and maintenance costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the maintenance team while ensuring adequate shift coverage and workload prioritization.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Utilize CMMS systems to schedule work, maintain asset history, track maintenance metrics, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process-related equipment issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, OEE, and cost reduction.
  • Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support capital projects including equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, and validation activities.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, operating standards, SOPs, and technical documentation.
  • Manage contractors and external service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Partner with site leadership to identify operational challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
