About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all asset and facilities maintenance at the Kalama specialty chemical manufacturing site, a 24/7 synthetic organic chemical operation with complex continuous and batch processes. Develops and executes maintenance strategies, systems, and processes to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost‑effective performance of plant assets. Leads a maintenance organization of approximately 4 direct reports and 17 indirect reports, including maintenance professionals, craftsmen, and contractors. Builds and sustains a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and EHS to align maintenance activities with operational objectives and regulatory requirements. Owns the site asset management strategy, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, CMMS utilization, QA/QC standards, and maintenance cost control. Works closely with maintenance planning, scheduling, and production teams to execute routine inspections, small outages, and major turnaround outages. Ensures compliance with OSHA, PSM, RAGAGEP, and other applicable regulatory and company requirements. Tracks and reports maintenance performance KPIs, supports audits and inspections, and leads corrective actions. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a 24/7 continuous chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working in PSM‑regulated facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical plant equipment, associated hazards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with a maintenance CMMS (SAP strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and safety documentation.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a track record of building a strong safety and reliability culture.
