About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will lead the site Maintenance function, providing both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance services on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. The goal is to maximize equipment performance and reliability while minimizing operating costs. This role involves contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategies, training and mentoring maintenance supervisors and technicians, and ensuring high levels of production assets availability. The manager will also be responsible for developing and managing the yearly maintenance budget, optimizing costs, and leveraging the CMMS for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Ensure maximum equipment performance and reliability while minimizing operating costs.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Train, and mentor maintenance supervisors and technicians.
  • Assign daily tasks, evaluate performance, and resolve technical escalations.
  • Lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Maximize equipment performance and achieve a trend decrease of unexpected downtime due to equipment failures.
  • Develop a Preventative Maintenance Plan schedule and ensure is carried out, plan to perform missed maintenance activities and make the required adjustments to avoid this in the future.
  • Support the autonomous maintenance plan implementation by training the operators on the main “first line” maintenance activities.
  • Drive an optimal maintenance work management, develop processes flow, ensure work orders creation, measure and track work order backlog and assign the technical personnel to the schedule’s activities.
  • Ensure high levels of production assets availability and have fast reaction to fix unexpected machinery breakdowns.
  • Achieve maintenance Key Performance Indicators targets (maintenance availability, work order backlog, schedule compliance, MTTR, MTBF and others).
  • Ensure a clear understanding of metrics meanings, calculations and trends by all maintenance team.
  • Manage routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.
  • Leverage the CMMS to streamline workflows, ensure accurate failure analysis, and monitor the planned-to-unplanned maintenance ratio to drive continuous improvement in machine availability.
  • Lead the development of the yearly maintenance budget, encompassing planned maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and capital expenditure (CapEx) requirements to support operational continuity.
  • Plan and execute cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring the effective utilization of resources, balancing short-term financial targets with long-term asset health.
