About The Position

MV Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Manager who will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional to manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of this fixed route bus operation. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved, and duties included will consist of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports. The Maintenance Manager must be able to properly manage a budget for maintenance program.

Requirements

• Minimum of three or more years of recent (within the past five years) direct successful experience in a Maintenance/Assistant General Manager capacity managing a fixed-cost transit property/operation with an alternative fuel fleet.
• Experience managing/directing 10 plus employees (fleet Technicians/Service Workers/Cleaners).
• Experience working with 50 + buses within the last year.
• Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Technical competence with light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance.
• Solid knowledge of managing audits and PM schedules.
• Must have a CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Previous passenger transportation in the current project or a similar environment preferred.
• ASE or manufacturer’s certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Diesel, CNG, and Alternative fuels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of this fixed route bus operation.
• Ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.
• Properly manage a budget for the maintenance program.
• Manage and interface with the client.
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
• Perform technical competence with light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact at all times.
• Manage audits and PM schedules.
