About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the maintenance function across two chemical manufacturing plants and one distribution center to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role requires a highly experienced, multi-craft leader with over 10 years of industrial maintenance experience, including expertise in high- and low-voltage electrical systems and strong mechanical knowledge of industrial piping systems. This position combines deep technical capability with strong leadership skills, requiring a strategic mindset to drive reliability initiatives, standardize maintenance practices across multiple locations, and optimize overall equipment performance. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and EHS to reduce downtime, strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in chemical or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial piping systems, pumps, valves, and process equipment.
  • Experience supervising and developing maintenance teams.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and control systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Experience with CMMS systems preferred.
  • 5-8 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School degree required.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel and internet/email in sufficient.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical License (Journeyman or Master preferred).
  • Industrial Maintenance or Technical Certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
  • Establish clear expectations around safety, accountability, and performance.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets and control costs.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, EHS, and Warehouse to support operational goals.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of high-voltage (480V+) and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Maintain motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, transformers, panels, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and facility electrical safety standards.
  • Lead lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety protocols.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial piping systems including chemical transfer lines.
  • Oversee pumps, valves, compressors, mixers, and process equipment.
  • Ensure piping systems meet applicable codes and safety standards.
  • Support system upgrades and capital improvement projects.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Develop KPIs for maintenance performance.
  • Implement preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and chemical safety regulations.
  • Lead confined space, hot work, and electrical safety programs.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the department.
