About The Position

The Maintenance Manager directs and coordinates activities concerned with the design, construction, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. This role is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the maintenance department, including professional support staff, and for the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Electrical certification preferred
  • Corrugated packaging industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery
  • Ability to use shop tools and equipment, drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy-acetylene torch
  • A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • A strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude
  • Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment
  • Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all maintenance technicians, providing them with leadership and opportunities to learn and improve.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of all technicians.
  • Manage and maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Successfully manage through clear communication on goals, training, coaching, and mentoring, while developing them with consistent feedback and motivation through encouragement to enable their success and establish a positive working environment.
  • Schedule required Preventive Maintenance on all machinery.
  • Respond to emergency work orders within established parameters of timely response.
  • Perform Lockout/Tag-out per procedure for required operations.
  • Install, lubricate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in compliance with plant codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Repair and maintain Corrugated plant machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Read and understand drawings, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical systems including valves and solenoids.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participate in the safety program.
  • Effectively communicate work performed and equipment statuses both written and verbally.
  • Share knowledge and gain knowledge from the rest of the team.
  • Consider safety in all engineering/maintenance decisions and network with supervision, management, and others to ensure high-quality safety decisions.
  • Effectively maintain equipment to continuously improve productivity, waste, and quality.
